Douglas R. Stutz, Ph.D.
Dr. Stutz served as the Project Manager/Incident Commander for the Anthrax remediation performed by Sabre Technical Services, LLC at the former AMI building in Boca Raton, FL.
Dr. Stutz served as the Incident Commander for the Capitol Anthrax Remediation Project. He had oversight responsibilities for all activities related to the identification and removal of anthrax from the Capitol area. He has an extensive background in both science and emergency management.
Dr. Stutz holds a Doctoral degree from the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Illinois. His field of study is toxicology and immunology. He served in the US Army for over 20 years working in the Office of the Surgeon General as Consultant for Emergency Medical Services; as the Director, Department of Microbiology, SEATO Medical Research Laboratory, Bangkok, Thailand; Walter Reed Army Institute of Research as a scientist and ultimately the Executive Officer; and as a professor of emergency and contingency medicine for the Uniformed School of the Health Sciences.
Dr. Stutz also has a unique emergency management background in that he has also served with the fire service for over 25 years as a volunteer and subsequently as a career fire chief and commissioner. His last post was as the Director of the School of Fire and Environmental Sciences, Miami-Dade Community College that included the Southeast Florida Fire Academy. He has consulted internationally on fire service management, incident management and hazardous materials problems.
Dr. Stutz is extensively published in both the scientific and emergency management worlds. He is internationally recognized as an authority on the management of chemically and biologically exposed persons. His latest book, Hazardous Materials Injuries, has been incorporated in the military medical system as a field manual.
Dr. Stutz has served as the Director of Emergency Response for Sabre Technical Services, LLC.
